So this morning was much more delightful.(or so I thought) Kids were cooperative and happy. Dropped the little guys off at school and I was looking forward to coming home to a nice quiet house. I settled into my comfy office chair with my Eggo waffles and OJ ready to do my daily email, Facebook, news,& job check when lo and behold the doorbell rang. Conveniently I was wearing proper open door attire. Before I reached the door I hear a door open upstairs, SOMEONE IS IN MY HOUSE!! I am about to fling the door open while screaming into the safety of the arms of whomever rang the bell when Hayden appears at the top of the stairs sleep still in his eyes. What, HUH? Wasn't he already at SCHOOL!?? Oh YEAH, middle school FRIDAY'S LATE START. I forgot he was still in his room sleeping, and he slept through his alarm once more, and of course it was a boy in the carpool ringing our bell wondering why Hayden wasn't coming out.I open the door, see the cute boy from the carpool, he looks at me, he sees Hayden at the top of the stairs still in his boxers, sees my apologetic look, and without us even speaking he knows it has happened yet again, he smiles and waves. It is hard being us. There is no husband to drive him to school today, so off I go adieu. Great, my waffles are going to be cold, and my OJ warm.
*Note excusing Hayden for being late.
Please excuse Hayden for being late the 20th and now the 21st of January. His lateness was due to our inability to get with the program.
Thank you,
The Mother of Hayden
